CHARACTER INFO
Character: Krile Baldesion (she does receive a small change in her name during Dawntrail, which has been reflected in her bio page, but for the sake of her canon point this is still, technically, her correct name in full)
Canon: Post-Endwalker (Specifically 6.5) / Pre-Dawntrail (7.0)
Age: 22
Background Information: Background (spoiler-free for Dawntrail as of posting this application).
Personality:
1) Tell us about who your character is and what someone’s first impression would be upon meeting them.
Krile Baldesion, at first glance, is a soft-spoken, intelligent, the young lalafell mage. The adopted grand-daughter of Galuf Baldesion, she grew up to take on the title of Archon as well as continue the works of Galuf under the order of "The Students of Baldesion". She will show patience and understanding to those who have questions, making it a point to answer their inquiries in a fashion that they will understand. Ever the picture of perfect etiquette she almost always bows or curtseys upon first meeting when introducing herself. And she is always the one to take the initiative to, whether it's meeting the Warrior of Light for the first time in Idyllshire or approaching the Dawnservant of Tuliyollal, Gulool Ja Ja. However, she is not without a mischievous side. This is a side that she reserves for her friends and comrades.
In the post patches of Heavensward, she had left Sharlayan to visit Eorzea where her assistance had been requested by Y'shtola. It was there that the young archon was reunited with the young elezen, Alphinaud, to whom she teasing noted that he had grown some since they last met, "or are those lifts in your boots?". And not even a minute later she hinted at the young man's embarrassing first day at the Studium only to be cut off by Alphinaud, wide-eyed and panicking. Or how in one of the official short stories, "Echoes of Delusion", she had feigned the echo giving her a vision in order to encourage Estinien to listen to what she and Tataru had to say. Her teases never go too far though.
2) What is a driving force your character has? What goals do they have, what motivates them, etc?
Twenty-two years ago she was an orphan found by Galuf and the archon had adopted her to be his granddaughter. He raised her alone but their little family of two was one of warmth and learning, motivating her to follow in his footsteps when she grew older. She has always been grateful to him for his teachings. Thankful that she never felt herself lacking when it came to having a family. She has always held the lingering hope to perhaps, one day, learn about the parents she never met. Why she had been left behind when she was but a baby; what had happened to her parents that made them leave her; were they even alive still? These were questions that always remained nestled in the back of her mind but she never allowed them to consume her when she had such a loving grandfather raising her. Instead of it becoming an obsession she tucked this mystery away as one to come back to should a clue ever come to light. A personal goal for her to eventually, hopefully, solve.
Now for all of her book smarts and mastery as a conjurer, Krile has always found herself in the supporting role instead of being the one on the combat field. Though she cannot wield weapons or channel the artes the likes of summoners or thaumaturges Krile pours her everything into what she can do for comrades. She is the one the Scions know they can rely on whether it be for the healing artes or her knowledge from studying at the Studium as well as under her grandfather. She always jumps to lend her aid when she can. She has even gone as far as to learning of the same arte the Edler Seedseer had used to pull Y'shtola from the lifestream and put it to use herself. Not able to accept the loss of yet another comrade the archon had implemented the spell in order to pluck a fellow Student of Baldesion, one Ejika Tsunjika, from the aethereal sea after he had made the sacrifice to destroy Eureka at the cost of his life.
Her biggest fear of being left behind has always motivated her to push herself. Hence why, upon discovering the arte of pictomancy left behind by the Archon Relm, there was no stopping her as she leapt at the opportunity. It was the perfect chance for her to prove herself just as every bit as capable as G'raha and the Scions and even the Warrior of Light. To be reliable in combat and hold her own.
3) What are their flaws as a character? What is something they've messed up, or have done that they regret?
Her heart and ability to empathize has lead her to prioritize others over herself. Krile's lack of self-preservation on multiple occasions would be the biggest flaw of hers with the varying degrees of just how much harm she risks upon herself.
The love she holds for her comrades has driven her to the point of nearly depleting her aether in order to maintain the soulless bodies of the Scions during the entirety of "Shadowbringers". And then even more so to help them readjust back to the Source when they were freed from the First, with one more soul belonging to her old friend, G'raha, added to the mix. Needless to say by the end of it all she drained of almost all her energy and helping herself to sweets in order to replenish her energy. And probably napped for a good while at that.
But on a more drastic scale, she had found herself captured by the Garlean Empire while assisting in aiding to transfer the wounded from Ala Mhigo to the Rising Stones. She had been caught as means of hoping that the others would manage to escape without incurring any further causalities. It was then that she was brought face to face with none other than Zenos yae Galvus himself. Instead of keeping to herself, she stared the man down (up?) and the first words out of her mouth were "Zenos Yae Galvus, I presume? it's true what they say. You do have the eyes of a monster. A ravenous, insatiable fiend". Even taking into consideration that she was small because she's a lalafell, the young archon still dwarves in size next to the viceroy. A man who is not shy to raise his blade without warning. And that is how she decides to face this man - her fears swallowed and a determined look on her face, unwavering.
Even more dangerously: Krile was fully prepared to make the ultimate sacrifice during the exploration of Eureka. As she was the only person that survived the destruction of the Isle of Val, she had argued with Ejika that she should be the one to destroy Eureka with her aether. She harbored so much guilt and remorse over the matter. Coupling that with the recent loss of both Minfillia and G'raha, as well as the passing of her grandfather, Krile was tired of being left behind. But the Echo was protecting her. The plan would not work due to its protection. And so, she would have to stand by and watch as her fellow student, Ejika, would sacrifice himself instead. Which only made the guilt worse.
4) Optional: What is something unique and interesting about them, or what is a fun little tidbit that sets them apart from the crowd?
The cat-eared cloak she wears is a gift from Galuf, said ears being symbols of the Echo. He always believed the Echo to be a trait for her to believe in, not feared. This token was a gesture that Krile had always treasured and always wears the cloak because of it!

Prior to her canon point, Krile was a conjurer. Her spells and abilities were primarily focused on healing her comrades. Having changed her job to one focused on combat, her ability to heal is limited to general healing/restoring of health. In place of more elaborate healing, she has opted to follow in the steps of the Archon Relm, replacing her staff with an enchanted paintbrush. These arcane arts are focused primarily on using/combining different elemental magicks to paint images that could be wielded in combat.
